On June 15th, over 30 people gathered at STAY GOLD to support Femme Fatale Friday. A night dedicated to celebrating diversity with a charity sweat, conversation, and social, we left feeling inspired and empowered to just #BeYou. We have Mia Mazin to thank our next day sore bodies from her upbeat workout. Our favorite part of her workout was at the end when she connected us all together for a ‘killer’ friendship-circle plank.

Our Keynote Speaker Jessica Platt, the first openly transgender to play in the CWHL, bravely shared her story with us. Her powerful words left many of us in tears, and we think it's fair to say that we all left that evening feeling lifted and inspired because of it. Thank you for your courage in sharing the most vulnerable parts of you. You are changing the conversation, you are challenging societal norms, and it's conversations like yours that we find strength to continue doing what we are doing.

To our sponsors, it was because of you that our guests were fuelled for the night. Thanks to you there was food, drinks and ice-cream. There were incredible prizes and spectacular swag bags. And most importantly, thanks to our community, every single dollar from the event will be donated to Eva's Initiative for Homeless Youth. While over 30% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ, it's because of you that we can help homeless youth to get the skills and support they need for a better future.

To our volunteers, thank you for your enthusiasm. Whether you were with us for the set up or take down, snapping photos or running errands, we treasure each and every one of you. Thank you endlessly for your time.

To everyone that couldn’t make it, it was serious such an incredible event (you can check it out for yourself below), but here is how you can now help us: help to continue the conversation. This week we want to inspire you to have one meaningful conversation. When you ask someone, “How they are doing?” we want you to actively listen and we want you to truthfully respond. It may not be easy, it may be hard, but your attention and support will make a difference.

Thank you everyone who came out last Friday night. And thank you to Stay Gold for having us in your amazing space!!

Many hugs,
Kelsey & Mandi
